PTI Historical Match

It was an interesting and memorable moments as Staff and students of Petroleum Training Institute Effurun, Delta State  gathered at the Institute sport arena for a send forth football match between the staff and students on the 2nd day of June 2017.

The match was organized by the Institute’s team for Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games (NOGIG) in collaboration with PTI sports committee in honour of one of the most reliable, respected and humble  retired sports Officer of the Institute, Mr. Bawo Omagbemi.

The football match that has it commentary ran by the students' affair Officer, Mr Ajima Joseph was witnessed by top management staff. The historical match that was kick started by  the Chief Librarian, Mr. R. T. Obashe was a platform that brought the staff and students of the Institute together for the first time in history of the Institute.

The football match that was aimed at bidding the former sports Officer who joined the Institute in 1984 and retired in 2017 farewell, and also wish him God's blessing in his future endeavour ended up with goal less draw.

The height of event was a presentation of gift to Mr. Bawo on behalf of sport loving staffs by Deputy Director of Academic, Mr O. C Siakpere who represented the Institute registrar Alhaji A. S. K. Taminu at the event.

"I really appreciates God Almighty, staff and students for their cooperation during my stay in the Institute.  I am humble and grateful for the  match organized to honour me, it has never be done  in the history of PTI". Mr. Bawo told The Actualizers' Team, (TAT)

The event will remain vivid in the memory of those who witnessed the well organized match. Which includes the President of The Students' Union Government, Comrade Theophilus Ukuoma  who advocates for such innovative event in the future,  in order to promote unity between the staff and students of the Institute.
