PTI MATRICULATES 1792 STUDENTS

Matriculating students.
 NOT FEWER THAN 1792 STUDENTS TOOK  MATRICULATION OATH.

DR. Henry Adebowala Adimula, the Vice Principal of the petroleum training  institite representing the Principal/CE Sunny Iyuke Matriculates 1,792  intakes for 2019/2020 academic session.
The event took place at the Institute Conference center; among those present are The Registrar/Secretary to counci Mr Clement Siapkere JP, Directors, Head of Departments, Academic Board members, and the matriculating students, Parents/ Guardians, Friends and well wishers.

The Petroleum Training Institute was established by Act No.37 and subsequently amended by Act No.52 of 1975, and PTI CAP P16 2004. The Act mandates the Institute to Provides courses of Instruction, training and Research in Technology and development of Technologist and Technicians normally required for oil production and allied disciplines.

For 2019/2020 matriculation ceremony,  it comprises of Both students in regular program and Industrial continues Education(ICE). According to Adimula about 3,602 applied for admission to pursue a career in Higher National Diploma, National Diploma and Certificate Programmes for 2019/2020 academic session out of which 1792 candidates were qualified for admission according to JAMB and PTI requirements.

Speaking at the matriculation, Adimula, the Research Don, a graduate of university of Ilorin, specially welcomes all the admitted students to campus,  he said" matriculation takes a special milestone as new faces are injected into the academic sphere of the institute. It provides Opportunity for fresh students who have gained admission into the institute as bona fide students of Petroleum Training Institute, the matriculation also marks the close of admission into the institute for 2019/2020 academic session"
  
Stretching further,  he advice the students to shun Social Vices and strictly adhere to the institute rules and regulations as were handed over to them during the orientation lectures, he advice the new students to shun Examination misconduct, stealing, Physical and Sexual assault, Cultsm, Drug peddling and taking of Indian Hemp on Campus, according to Adimula, in the event of any offense committed in the institute and the person is caught , it will attract concomitant sanction, and when it becomes necessary, the Institute will not hesitate to expel the student.

It was gathered by Campus Life that,  three days was use by institute to properly orients

the intakes on the code of conduct in PTI, from the orientation, lectures and  seminars were delivered which will enable the smooth coexistence of students, staff and management of the Institute while on Campus.

Taking a step futher, Campus life meets the Speaker of Students Union Government, RT Hon. Ngene Chukwuemezia Daniel, he welcome all admitted students to Campus, he advise the students to remain focus, having it in mind that, there where individually admitted into the institute and and at end  their stay will be summarized by their individual results.


A National Diploma one (ND1) student of Computer science and informatioln Technology Mr.  Great Akporokiamu shared his experience with Campus Life,  he said "I am happy been admitted and now am been confirmed a student of the institute, my only issues is on the fact that a new batch of admission was releases not upto a week and next week is Test week, it becomes difficult for a student like me who was recently admitted to cope with the process as it might affect me academically.

Again, a Higher National Diploma one (HND1) student of Industrial safety Technology, Uyameh Victory, narrated his experience with Campus Life, he applauded the institute in terms of practicals and as well how it has built him to be a stable student.
 He further state that, the reason for him to choose PTI was because of the level of discipline and education quality, he made references of other institutions having almost 200 students in class, but in PTI; at most is 60 students in a class he added.

Finally, the students Union Government Organized a matriculation Aftermath party for the New students in the Institute Buttery. Campus life welcome all matriculating Students to the high Institution  of learning.
