INSTITUTE BEGINS NEW ACADEMIC SESSION

Petroleum Training Institute Effurun, Delta State, Nigeria came alive as the new academic session commenced after a long academic break. Sunday Egon reports.

Thousands of student comprises of old and new troupes into the Institute for registration of 2016/2017 academic session according to the approved  institute academic calendar. The academic session is scheduled to commence on the 7th of November, 2016, the epilogue of the  '11-million-pound session' is the registration of the new intakes followed by registration of returning students which is stated to commence on the 14th of November and to last for two weeks. Lectures are to commence on the 22nd November, while matriculation is scheduled to hold December 9th, 2017.       

  As at June 8th, 2016, thousands sat for Petroleum Training Institute  entrance examination with centers in all the major cities across the states of the Federation where few students were admitted.

Before the entrance examination, most campus fellowships planned a strategy of getting in touch with the aspirants. They came up with a program tagged Cash-Them-Young (CTY).  This saw different fellowships' excos and members visited examination centre before the commencement of examination, they got aspirants personal details, created a social media platform for communication with the aspirants and got possible feedback, when they were admitted.

However, prior to the commencement of the academic  session, the Students Union Government, fellowships, departmental and tribal associations were fully prepared as they welcomed new Students at the Institute lawn tennis court which was well decorated with canopies to assist students for registration on arrival to campus.                                         

     On the first day of registration, campus fellowship organised a cash-them-young (CTY) events to welcome new students from the school gate by fellowships. Temporal accommodation were provided for students, new students were helped with registrations' guidelines and procedures. Some of the campus fellowships makes the CTY event fashionable and juicy as some fellowship members and excos put up shirts with write up; "we cares", "how may I be of help" "ask me".

 However, some of the newly admitted students shared their experience with The Actualizers' Team having been in school for a couple of days.
                                                                
Joy Edema, a fresher in the department of science laboratory technology, national diploma, told The Actualizers' Team that her heart was filled with joy when she got admission into the institute, she said "I think am beginning to see life in a new dimension, though my only Challenge is the stress in the registrations process but still grateful to God for being in a unique environment like PTI.

Onyema Williams an HND fresher from the department of Mechanical Engineering told The Actualizers' Team that when he entered into the campus, a campus fellowship welcomed him, provided
temporal accommodation for him, and helped him with registration  procedures, "l believe the school is religious inclined" Onyema added further comment that the registration process in PTI is quite simple compared to what I experienced in my formal school. He further said that;  "the aspect of information dissemination: l was not aware of some payments made mandatory before been cleared and issued admission letter but all the same am grateful to God been in the famous oil republic". 
                                       
 In addition, The Actualizers Team(TAT) welcomes but old and new students back to oil republic and wish them a wonderful stay on campus.
